Blou an Acadian Music Group from Nova Scotia, has been nominated for Roots/Traditional Group of the Year at ECMA 2001. Their CD has also been nominated for Francophone Recording of the Year. The group came together in 1994 and put shows on for Acadian schools in Nova Scotia. Today, BLOU actively participates in various festivals and wide-ranging cultural events such as Contact-Acadie, Festival acadien de Caraquet, Festival acadien de Grand-Pr鬠Mercredi Show de Dieppe, and a performance at the East Coast Music Awards.


Blou was called upon to perform at the opening cermonies of l Ann饠de la francophonie canadienne in March , 1999 in Ottawa. Meet these five talented musicians from Nova Scotia. They hail from La Baie Ste-Marie in the French Shore area near Yarmouth. Patrice Boulianne is leader of the band and a front man extraordinaire. He plays accordian, guitar and does vocals. Len LeBlanc is a very gifted composer and sings about the reality of Acadian Life in Nova Scotia. He plays percussion, guitar, harmonica, washboard and does vocals. Jacques Livernoche has a rich experience in drumming. Over the years, Jacques has participated in many recordings as well as many important events. Jeff D鲹 is the soul of the group. He has many years experience playing in francophone events all over Canada. He plays electric bass, harmonica and does vocals. Harvey Marcotte is a perfect example of Acadian culture personified. He plays mandolin, guitar, fiddle and does vocals. Blou is the first Acadian Group to attain such a high level of success in the international francophone community. Since 1994 they have performed in, major Canadian cities, and toured Europe with stops in the Countries of, France, Belgium, Corsica, Germany and parts of USA.

Much success is attributed their Acadian roots which is both a source of ingenuity and creativity. Their music is made up of ancient and new electric sounds spiced with powerful rhythms and originality capable of making you live a truly memorable experience. Futhermore, their charisma, artistic abilities and high-energy all add up to extraordinary performances. They were the first Acadian musical group to sign a distribution contract for the European market with their first album, ACADICO. The future is even more promising for their second Album, RYTHM N BLOU. It has just been announced that Blou is again on their way to France. They will be doing a 10 day tour in Normandy. They will participate for the first time in the European edition of the coup de coeur Francophone. They will be giving performances in concert halls that are part of the prestigious R鳥au des sc讥s nationales Francaises. They will be promoting their second album, Rythm N Blou in France.
