Jimmy Rankin, singer/songwriter from Mabou, Cape Breton, just released his newASJimmyRankinEdgeofDay.jpg CD on May 8/07 entitled EDGE OF DAY. The CD is considered a masterpiece of music that will speak to you, move you and touch you in unexpected and profound ways. Jimmy has won four Socan-sponsored ECMA and Juno Songwriter of the Year Awards for the chart-topping Fare Well Love, You Feel The Same Way Too, Followed Her Around and Midnight Angel. Jimmy was the songwriting lynchpin of The Rankin Family--helping them win 15 ECMA's, six Juno Awards, three Canadian Country Music Awards and produced sales of over 2 million albums.

The new album contains 13 songs all written by Jimmy and here are the titles:

Stranded-Slipping Away-Got To Leave Louisana-501 Queen-Heaven Is The last Place-Hopeless-Still Lovers Now-The Touch of An Angel-Drifting Too Far From Shore-Shot In The Dark-The Luckiest Guy-When I Rise and Beautiful Dream.

Jimmy likes his music open to personal interpretation. On this album there are a lot of topics and each song has a story to it and Jimmy likes people to listen to his record and enjoy each song as an entity in and of itself...to take a story from it and whatever they need. The album's first single is Slipping Away. It's a melancholy song that personifies the chasm of distance between fading lovers, and the hopelessness that one feels in having no choice in destiny taking its fateful course. The song also has an accompanying video, shot in the industrial oil-refinery district of Edmonton by popular world-renown David Hogan.

Atlantic Seabreeze gives top ratings to this great CD. For more information regarding Jimmy and his music, refer to his website, address posted above.
