Let It Rock-DVD-Ronnie Hawkins 60th Birthday
Featuring Jerry Lee Lewis-Jeff Healey-Carl Perkins
By John Gavin, Tuesday, December 13, 2005

Atlantic Seabreeze recently received from Eagle Vision, division of Eagle Rock ASLetItRockDVDRHawkins60thBirthday.jpg Entertainment, one of the most exciting DVD's produced in some time. It is entitled, LET IT ROCK, celebrating Ronnie Hawkins 60th birthday at Massey Hall, Toronto in January 1995. A star-studded array of guests were assembled including Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, two enormously popular nearly 40 years after they, and indeed rock 'n' roll itself, had burst into the consciousness of a hopelessly unprepared world. The concert proved to be one of the most magical occasions when everything falls into place and provided the capacity audience with a feast of authentic rock 'n' roll, plus enough memories to last a lifetime.

Also included in show were; the blind blues guitarist, Jeff Healey-singer and pianist, Laurence Gowan and The Band (The Hawks).

Here are some of the songs performed on the show: Let it Rock and Down In The Alley, Remedy, The Weight, Rock 'N' Roll Shoes, Bo Diddley and Who Do You Love by The Band-Mamma Come Home, Wild Little Willie, Mary Lou, Ruby Baby, and Days Gone by by Ronnie Hawkins-Time For Love, Good Golly Miss Molly by Lawrence Gowan-Matchbox and Blue Suede Shoes by Carl Perkins and Whole Lotta Shakin' and Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis.

Often referred to as the rock event of its decade, this 1995 show is also one of the last concerts performed by Rockabilly legend Carl Perkins and the Band's Rick Danko. The updated version of this stellar show now features enchased audio in 5.1 surround sound, putting the viewer center stage at Toronto's highly-acclaimed Massey Hall. Included in the DVD is a special bonus features At The Crossroads of Rock and Roll Documentary with bonus Director's commentary track. Look out for this amazing DVD in a music store near you, (you will not be disappointed).
