He served his country for over 8 years and is now a Military Police-officier in Halifax. While a Military Police-officier, he was sent to Afghanistan for a seven month tour. While training in Edmonton, Alberta getting ready for his mission, he focused on his song writing. His singing went over well with his fellow soldiersand it paid off.
He wrote a song called, What A Soldier Left Behind. The song was recognized by his superiors, and became a major hit in the Canadian Forces community. Elton was moved by his songs popularity, and recorded 4 songs at Denmark Production's Studio owned by Juno and ECMA judge and music producer of the year, Dennis G. Field.
In March 2008, while in Afghanistan, Elton sang, Soldier Left Behind with Canada's beloved rock band, Blue Rodeo, at a concert to support the troops. He got a major reception from the audience including retired Chief of Defence Staff, General Hillier.
Now back in Halifax, Elton finished recording his debut album at Denmark Productions and just signed a major deal with Matchbox Recordings, a music distribution company. The album was released in Canada in December 2008 and will be released in the UK in March 2009.
