ASBansheeProfilePictgureii.jpg Meet Banshee, ECMA 2004 Roots/Traditional Recording of The Year Nominee, a Celtic group based in Moncton, New Brunswick. The group consists of the following members: Byron Chase, vocals, mandolin, bass, whistle and bodrhan-Shelley Chase (Byron's sister), vocals, guitar, piano and bodhran-Stacey Read, vocals, fiddle & piano-Glen Deveau, percussion. Brother and sister, Bryon and Shelley Chase have been performing music together since they could drool and in 2000 they formed Banshee by adding two others, Stacey and Glen.

Since formed as a group, they have travelled extensively, recorded sensitively and performed whole heartedly their inclusive brand of Atlantic Folk music. They have shared the stage with Adam Gregory, Richard Wood, The Irish Descendants, The Punters, Slainte Mhath, John Allen Cameron, Danu, Kindle and a host of other fine East Coast talent.

They have performed all over the East Coast, performed in Calgary, B.C. and in ,b>Dallas, Texas. They produced 3 CD's to date. The latest one entitled, A Clearer Path released in November 2004. The others are entitled, Long Awaited Day released in 2003 and Secret Manuscripts released in 2001.

Their latest CD entitled, A CLEARER PATH, was produced by Bob Hallet and contains 10 tracks of mostly original material...a fine combination of songwriting and arrangement. It was recorded at Great Big Studios in Newfoundland and includes guest musicians, Byron Pardy, Santiago Serna, Bob Hallet, Michael Hanrahan, Chris Andrews, Fred Jorgenson, Chris LeDrew and Spencer Crewe.The group have many gig dates booked for 2005 including:

May 23- International Assoc. of Commercial Administors, Fredericton, N.B.

June 24-Bedford Days, Bedford, Nova Scotia

July 1-Canada Day-City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo, B.C.

July 8-9-The Atlantic Trap and Gill-Calgary, Alberta

July 9-Calgary Stampede (Annual Stampede Breakfast)
