and co-founder of folk/rock innovators FIGGY DUFF, has been at the forefront of the traditionally influenced Celtic scene for the past 20 years. Pamela had been performing with Figgy Duff for 17 years and were known for their strikingly original and beautiful arrangements of traditional Newfoundland/Celtic material as well as their equally impressive and powerful original material. Pamela and fellow Figgy Duff core member, Noel Dinn, led the band through production of 6 albums, several videos and countless tours throughout North America and Europe staging an international prescence in the world of Folk/Celtic Music. Noel Dinn's untimely death in 1993, and with other band members wanting to spend time with their families, band members went their different ways.
Before Noel's death, he worked with Pamela to produce the exquisite Album, The Color of Amber, also featuring Anita Best. She continued her musical journey redefining some of the most haunting traditional material that untimately landed the album on several Years Best lists throughout the world.
Her first solo album entitled, On A Wing And A Prayer, earned critical acclaim and a place on various international complilations. A recent album entitled, Amber Christmas showcased her varied talents both as a performer and a producer. For the past several years Pamela was busy gathering all her former recordings under her own label, Amber Music.Just recently, she released a new CD, entitled 7 Years, a collection of her mostly own written material which by all accounts, is an award winner. With this album, Pamela gathered all the stray souls, the albums, the music, and housed them under her own roof. Now Pamela is on tour promoting her new album and will be performing at Hugh's Room in Toronto on September 25/02 at her CD release party.

Pamela Morgan, singer/songwriter from Newfoundland, who was for 19 years lead singer, guitarist and arranger for Canada's pioneering Celtic Band, Newfoundland's FIGGY DUFF has just released here 6th solo CD entitled, ANCESTRAL SONGS in 2006. Since the Figgy Duff band break-up, Pamela has been spearheading her own
independent record label, Amber music and producing albums for various artists. She has been a leading performer in the Celtic music scene for 25 years. The new CD, Ancestral Songs contains 10 songs from the oral tradition of Newfoundland and Labrador. Here are the song titles: A Barque in the Harbour-Lady Margaret-Lord Bateman-
Early Spring-The Green Shores of Fogo-My Gallant Brigantine-The Dole Song-Bold Lamkin-I'll Hang my Harp and Thomas the Rhymer. Pamela plays acoustic guitar and does all vocals. Special guest, Chris Leslie plays violin on three tracks and viola on one track. The CD was recorded at Blue Moon Studio in Oxfordshire, England. The CD finds Pamela revisiting her traditional roots, presenting 10 songs that she learned in the 70's from traditional singers, and arranging them for guitar. These are songs that arrived with the settlers from England and Ireland. Pamella shines on this CD and her voice is eloquent and lovely and the CD is a must for anyone interested in traditional songs, a good story or just a beautiful voice singing beautiful songs.
