In such a short time, her music became in demand, and as a result many big venues on P.E.I. got her to perform at major events, such as Tourism P.E.I., P.E.I. Board of Education, CBC Radio and many others. She represented P.E.I. at the Canadian Masters fiddling Championship in Ontario in 2001.
Cynthia has risen to the top very quickly and is demand for dances, and ceilidhs all over the place. Besides her homework in grade eleven in Charlottetown, she teaches about 30 private fiddle students.
At the moment when she is not solo performing, she performs with the Island's popular group, Fiddlers' Sons. Since March 2002, she has been performing on stages across the Island. She has gained much valuable stage experience over the last 3 years performing at numerous concerts, benefits & other shows. Just recently, Cynthia has received five nominations in the P.E.I. Music Association, where Awards will be given out in November 2002 in Charlottetown. Her nominations are: Female Artist of the Year-Roots Artist-Instrumentialist-Album and New Artist. This past year, she released her debut CD, entitled, Head Over Heels. Her Award nominations were the result of this great CD. The CD is a collection of 10 great tracks containing many tunes of tastefully chosen music and produced by Gordon Belsher and recorded at his studio at Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions. It is an upbeat album with energetic jigs, strathspeys and reels to make you get up and dance; with a few select slow airs and waltzes to allow you to catch your breath. The CD has already gone Island Gold selling well over 2000 copies. Cynthia has many up-coming important performances coming up including, A P.E.I. Music Award Showcase, Christmas Daddies Telethon, and many private functions. For further information regarding Cynthia and her music, refer to her above posted website address.
