ASArlibidoProfileShotii.gif ASArlibidoSecondCDShot.gif Arlibido, Halifax’s favourite indie Band, is nominated at ECMA 2001, as the East Coast Alternative Artist/Group of The Year. This band has exploded on the music scene since their ECMA Showcase in 2000. They released their first Album, Safe ‘n’ Sexy, in 1998, and earned a nomination in 1999 as Alternative Artist of the Year. They toured all over the Martimes as a result and showcased in Toronto at the 1999 Canada Music Week and released two videos. Now the group have released their second CD in 2000, entitled, All the World’s America, and they have been nominated in the ECMA’s again in 2001. This is quite an achievement for such a young Band in a short time. Meet the Band: Tim MacNeil-Vocalist/guitarist, Jesse Fraser-Bassist, DJ Timmons-Drums.

The release of their first CD, Safe ‘n’ Sexy, has brought this young power a lot of attention. With several songs receiving campus airplay across the country, the support of MuchMusic on two videos, and tons of tour dates in the works, Arlibido’s fan base is growing by leaps and bounds. Their new CD, All the Worlds America, has lots of new songs about sex, (Bite You, Jello and Marketplace) to keep their ever growing legion of female fans happy. Other song titles are; Nervous, Just A Little Time, Hard To Be Easy, Unchained Melody and more. The song, Unchained Melody, an Old Classic, by the Righteous Brothers, has been a jawdropping show closer for the band. Another song, If I Need, a radio ready new wave pop nugget about the perils of devotion, works because it marries supple groove with infectious melody, an Arlibido trademark. Watch out for this great pop/rock group in 2001.
