kidney failure at age 77 at his home in Ballinafad, near Erin Ontario.

He had refused medical treatment and expressed skepticism

of the benefits of medical technology.

It appears that Stompin' Tom is more popular now than he was alive.

Many radio stations are playing his music nowadays where they

wouldn't play his music when he was alive. This is great news,

as they are keeping his

great music out of the archives..

Stompin' Tom is buried at Erin Union Cemetary in Erin, Ontario.

The following poem is enscribed on his tombstone:

The body has returned to sod,

The spirit has returned to God

So on this spot, no need for grief,

Here only lies a fallen leaf

Until new blossoms form in time,

The tree is where I now reside

But with this poem, as you can see

They haven’t heard the last of me.
