Newlywed Shania Twain has another reason to smile -- the Timmins, Ont., native has been announced as the 2011 inductee to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The 12-time Juno Award winner will be honoured during this year's award telecast in Toronto on March 27, marking her first return to the Junos since hosting the 2003 bash in Ottawa.

Twain married Swiss businessman Frederic Thiebaud on New Year's Day in Rincon, Puerto Rico in front of 40 family members and friends.

The 45-year-old Twain is preparing to launch a TV show on Oprah Winfrey's cable channel, OWN, called Why Not? With Shania Twain, and has plans to publish a memoir.

With over 80 million albums sold worldwide, the five-time Grammy-winning Twain stands among the best-selling artists of all time.

The 40th Juno Awards ceremony will be hosted by 24-year-old Toronto rapper Drake. Nominations will be announced on Feb. 1.

Shania Twain revolutionized the look and sound of country music, and truly is one of the most accomplished and celebrated music artists of her era, said Melanie Berry, president and CEO of Junos organizer the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, in a statement.

Her authenticity as a songwriter and performer has made her a global powerhouse, and we're so proud to honour her at home in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

FOOTNOTES;

*Superstar Shania Twain was a regular Guest at a Newfoundland Club called The Conception Bay Club in Toronto owned by Marty Hibbs. (from 1978 until 1982)

*She was hired by Marty Hibbs (brother of the Great HARRY HIBBS) from Newfoundland.

*Eileen (Shania) was 15 years old at the time and performed Friday & Saturdays at the Club.

*Her mother (Sharon) was her chaperone, worked in the kitchen and both travelled by bus from their home in Timmins every weekend.

*In 1980 when Harry Hibbs moved back to Newfoundland, he commuted to Toronto twice a month to perform. Shania became the club's special guest in Harrry's absence.

*At that time the house band was backing Shania up commented Marty, and said her voice was a dead ringer for Tayna Tucker. He said her song-writing skills had not yet developed but he always felt she would do well if she was givien the exposure. Marty said, he was very proud of her accomplishments and often wonder if her mother Sharon was still alive, how happy she might be to see how Eileen (Shania) has finally accomplished her dream.

*Marty wonders. if anybody at the Conception Bay Club, including Marty, ever imagined that young Eileen (Shania) would become the biggest selling recording artist in the world today? and it all began at the Newfoundland club, The Conception Bay Club.
