Johnny Cash/June Carter Cash-CD-Duets-In Review
A Collection of 16 Duets
By John Gavin, Friday, February 17, 2006

Atlantic Seabreeze just received a new CD by Johnny Cash & June ASJohnnyandJuneCashDuets.jpg Carter Cash from Sony/BMG entitled DUETS. This amazing CD is a collection of 16 duet songs which their fans will cherish and a welcome addition to their music collections. There have been many highly successful duet partnerships in the history of country music, but no other coupling has been quite as lasting or has made the same impact as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.

Johnny and June had a tumultuous courtship that ultimately yielded the greatest of all country marriages. Partners in life and in song, Johnny and June have some of the best duets, like JACKSON and IT AIN'T ME BABE and are included on this incredile CD.

Here are the titles of the other songs: Long-Legged Guitar Pickin' Man-Oh, What A Good Thing We Had-Darlin' Companion-If I Were A Carpenter-Cause I Love You-The Loving Gift-Help Me make It Throught The Night-The Pine Tree-No Need To Worry-Old Time Feeling-One Way Rider-Brand New Dance-Far Side Banks of Jordan and It Takes One To Know Me.

The last song on the CD entitled, IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ME was discovered in Johnny's collection of unreleased material dating back to 1977. It was just a heartfelt guitar /vocal duo and never recorded. John Carter Cash agreed to produce the overdub sessions required to finish the master with full string section including backing vocals by himself and his wife Laura and a features vocal turn by his sister Carlene. The result, one of the best vocals in years by Johnny and June and perhaps will become the top duet songs of all times. High marks from Atlantic Seabreeze for this remarkable CD and hats off to its Producer Gregg Geller for keeping Johnny Cash and June Carter's music alive for many of their fans. Watch for this CD in a music store near you.
