Lennie Gallant, Order of Canada Receipent, ECMA multiple award winner, with 13 awards, and Juno Award nominee, performed brilliantly at Hugh's Room on Sunday night, November 6/05 to almost a full house. Lennie with his band, fiddler Sean Kemp and Joe Butcher, bass player from the George Canyon Band kept the audience at the edge of their seats with their performance. Lennie whose songs have been recorded by some 30 artists internationally, sang many songs from his new CD, When We Get There, all his own original material. He also sang many requests from his previous albums which added a mix of various great songs, much to the delight of the audience.
At shows end, Lennie and his band received a standing ovation, and they came back to an encore of 3 more songs. When the encore was finished, another deserving standing ovation took place and a thunderous applause rocked the building. Many observers say that this new CD, is Lennies best and may capture many awards in 2006. Lennie is now on his way for shows in Ottawa, Glace Bay, and Summerside, P.E.I. The new CD is now available in all music outlets now.
