The four Cottars are: Ciaran and Fiona MacGillivray (brother & sister) and Jimmy and Roseanne MacKenzie (brother & sister) and have been playing traditional music since early childhood. John McDermott joins the Cottars on one of the songs entitled, Reconciliation. This inspiring song written by Ron Kavana is gracefully performed, a song which involves lovers in both the North and South of Ireland representing reconciliation. All the individual group members shine throughout the album, and special mention is given to Ciaran MacGillivray who sings the ballad, Loch Tay Boat Song to perfection. This tender Scottish love song is given special open-tuning treatment by Ciaran.
