Meet Robin Jessome Quintet who received an ECMA 2012 Award nomination for their album, FOR WHATEVER REASON for Jazz Recording of The Year.

The Quintet who performed on the album is made up of: Robin Jessome, Gordon Hycand, Chris Pruden, Mark Godprey and Mark Segger.

Tromponist Robin Jessome is in high demand as a distinct and unique musical artist, improvisor and composer is known for his musical scene of humour.

Robin's energy is often focused on the 11 piece large-ensemble project: Blunt object and the Robin Jessome Quintet. Robin works frequently as a trombonist in various Big bands and ensembles in Toronto.

Robin was a member of the national Jazz Orchestra which was featured with performances at the 2009 National Jazz Awards. He also takes part in workshops and has performed in Helsinki, Finland as a competition finalist in the 2003 international Trombone Festival.

Robin is originally from Nova Scotia and received a Bachelor of Music at St. Francis Xavier University and recently completed a Master of Music in Jazz.

The Quintet offers a blend of intense interaction with adventurous compositions, moody textures and good sense of humor make the band one of the fw new voices in contemporary jazz.
