(New Album April 2017) |
---|
Russell Bowers host/producer of Daybreak on CBC Radio One in Calgary will accept the award in Halifax on behalf of the Hibbs family. He is a longtime advocate of the music of Harry Hibbs.
Hibbs will join the other 2017 inductees, Natalie MacMaster, Gene MacLellan, Ken Tobias and Joelia Foulds. First NS Music Hall of Fame inductees in 2015 were Rita MacNeil, John Allan Cameron, Ann Murray and Brookes Diamond.
To coincide with Hall of Fame induction, Bowers discovered some old television shows and decided to embark on a digital album project. The project will have an official launch on Tuesday April 18. The album is called OFF THE FLOOR and contains songs recorded on Harry Hibbs Shows over the years and many of the songs have never been released before.
The album will be available for download April 18 from itunes and also on Amazon and CD Baby.
Hibbs died of cancer in 1989 at the age of 47
