Scott MacMillan, guitarist from Nova Scotia recently released a new Jazz Recording in 2016, entitled Live at Stayner's Wharf and has been nominated for an ECMA 2017 for Jazz Recording of The Year.

For 10 years a group of fabulous and supportive musicians have peformed every 2nd Monday during the winter months and since, 2007 Stayner's Wharf Bar & Grrille in Halifax has been their home port. To celebrate Scott's 60th birthday and a decade of The Rocks, special guest and old Guitar Souls buddy Dave MacIssac joined the band to record Live at Stayner's.

The CD was recorded in April 2015 at Stayner's Wharf, Halifax, NS. Here is a list of musicians producing the music on the CD:

Trumpets, John Cuming, Matt Myer - Trombones, Simon Oakey, Jim Eager - Soprano, Alto Sax1, Flute, Chris Mitchell - Alto Sax 2, larinet, Kenny MacKay - Tenor Sax, Jeff Mosher - Baritine Sax, Jackson Fairfax Perry - Piano, Dave Staples - Bass, Jamie Gatti - Drums, Tom Roach - Guitar, Scott MacMillan and special guest, Dave MacIsaac.

Most of the music on the CD was composed and arranged by Scott MacMillan with help from Dave MacIsaac and Freddie King on 2 tracks.

Here are the 9 title tracks: Number 17 -Not Afraid To Wade - Amass A Mess - Sackville Peaks - Lament For Albert King - Just Pickin' - Setbacks - Gigglebee Jig - Third D'Cade.

A great listening-to album by the group and for Jazz lovers, this album is for you. Atlantic Seabreeze gives the album high ratings on its rating list and I am sure after listening to this fine album, more nominations and awards should be in store.
