Tenders for the construction of The Stompin' Tom Center in Skinner's Pond, PEI are to be closed on November 23, 2016.

The center in Skinner's Pond, a tribute to Canadian country singing legend Stompin' Tom Connors is a $1.2 million development . It will be a 3,600 square foot cultural center containing an entertainment area for 120 people, a gift shop and food services.

The foundation will be poured shortly and the building closed in so workers can work on the inside during the winter. There will be additional phases to the project once the attraction proves its value.

This is great news for Western PEI and the Island itself. Over 50,000 visitors visit North Cape each year, and this new project will add another attraction for visitors to the area which is badly needed..

The Stompin' Tom Center, Homestead and Schoolhouse will be offically opened July 1, 2017.
