Country Music Legend and Inductee into The Canadian County Music Hall of Fame JOHNNY BURKE will be peforming at The Royal Canadian Legion in Tignish, PEI on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 8 pm.
Performing with Johnny will be Lisa Logan from Kensington, PEI and Joe Howe, former band member of Johnny's Band, Eastwind.
Johnny was born in Rosaireville, NB and moved to Ontario in the early 60's. During his career he backed Nashville artists at the famous Horseshoe Tavern, played bass and guest artist on the Carl Smith show on CTV for 3 years, performed with his own band, Caribou Showband for 7 years on the TV show, At The Caribou with Harry Hibbs, changed his band name to Eastwind and was houseband on the CTV show, The Funny Farm, and had a seven year engagement on the syndicated Opry North Show.
Johnny's hit record, WILD HONEY, was named single of the year in 1978 and his records became top sales items across the country. With 14 albums to his credit he was inducted into
Johnny has several up-coming concerts in the Maritimes and Ontario including In Kensington, PEI on June 5 at the Kensington Presb. Church.
