Gordie Sampson, siniger/songwriter and Juno Winner, from Cape Breton has been nominated for 2 ECMA 2012 Music Awards for this 2011 release, ALMOST BEAUTIFUL. Nominations were for Country Recording and Solo Recording of the Year.

Gordie is known as one of the top songwriters in Canada. The song he co-wrote entitled Jesus Takes The Wheel, sang by Carrie Underwood was a top winner, placed Gordie on the top pedestal of song writing. This song was a Grammy winner, also many other nominations and Awards for his outstanding writings.

This abum, Almost Beautiful, is Gordie's 4th album, and contains many brilliant co-written songs, 11 songs in all. Gordie produced the album. Here are the song titles:

Thank My Lucky Stars-Wake My Heart-Fear of Flying

I See You In Everything-Crazy Holdin' On -Hurricane Jane

Tough Town-What Will They Say

Many musicians help Gordie with the music on the album, too many to mention here, but are all listed on the album jacket.

Gordie has written many songs throughout his career thus far, and many of these songs are available to preview and buy and linked to itunes.

Atlantic Seabreeze gives this album good ratings on its rating list especially his writings and we should see him in future award nominations for this CD.
