in July 2006, his new CD entitled. SOMEBODY WROTE LOVE. The CD contains 12 songs all of which George choose and all mean so much to him. In fact the CD title song, Somebody Wrote Love, George tells us that this song, he loved it the moment he heard it a year ago and kinda made it his own and is proud to have it as his first single from the CD. In fact, this first released song, is already #1 on Canada's Top 100 Cancountry Hits, released only 3 weeks ago. This CD is the second album for Universal since George was runner-up to Brad Cottar in Nashville-Star competition in 2004. Listening to the album, makes one wonder if it will equal or surpass the success of his first album for Universal, where the album had at least 6 top hits. It doesn't seem to have the exciting songs as it did in the first one, but may come up a winner.
However, time will tell, and judging by the success of the first released single, may surprise us all. One song, Happy Man, was written by ECMA winner, Gordie Sampson from Cape Breton.
Here are the song titles: Time For Goodbye-Somebody Wrote Love-Coming From You-Your Smile-Drinkin' Thinkin'-I Want You To Live-Happy Man-Madi's Song (The Man She Thinks I Am)-Ladders To Climb-Some People Change-Quitters and The Hard Times.
One song on the album George wrote is, Madi's Song (The Man She Thinks I Am), is about his daughter who has George tied around her finger so tightly he can hardly breath, but he loves it. The first song on the CD is titled, Time For Goodbye may well be a winner as well as Your Smile, his wife's favourite song. The album was produced by Scott Sherrod and George Canyon.
