Ian Sherwood, singer/songwriter from Halifax and former member of the popular ASIanSherwoodCDSelfTitled.jpg swing band, The Jive Kings from Charlotetown, P.E.I., has just released his debut self-titled CD. A former jazz saxophone trained artist, he became a fine singer/songwriter. He is compared to that of James Taylor, Van Morrison and others.

The CD contains 11 songs, all written by Ian and all songs have appealing melodies. Here are the song titles: New Foundation-A Thousand Years-Starting From New-Dixieland Dirt Bovine-Just Me-Foolon' You-Dawson Slide-Soul On Fire-The Last Word-Buying The Farm and At Your Door.

Musicians helping Ian with the CD: Konrad Pluta, keyboards and piano-Scott Ferguson, drums and percussion-Jamie Gatti, electric, acoustic and frettless basses-Lewis Melville, lap steel-Emile Deon, electric and acoustic guitars and of course Ian with vocals, accoustic and electric guitars, saxes and percussion.

The CD is brilliantly written, and with Ian's appealing and thoughtful lyrics, make this album a top easy listening album and a welcome to anyone's CD collection. Atlantic Seabreeze give this album top marks in its listings. Ian's musical experience with the Jive Kings is easily heard throughtout the album with his swinging lyrics and saxophone playing. To purchase this CD, refer to Ian's website, address posted above.
